AMRC Cymru

Case study | Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Cymru

The Brief

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), a £20m state-of-the-art research and development facility in North Wales, was recently described by Welsh government ministers as a ‘game-changer’ for the economy of Wales. It is predicted to increase GVA (the measurement for the increase in the value of the economy – due to the production of goods and services), by as much as £4 billion over the next 20 years.

Leading construction and engineering business NG Bailey was appointed to deliver the innovative new centre’s mechanical and electrical design and called upon LPS for the external lighting.

The Solution

Working with NG Bailey, we were thrilled to supply all of the project’s exterior lighting, including Nivo, our striking square architectural bollard and for the car park lighting – our complementary and versatile column mounted Keno, which delivers up to 170lm/W.
