A Conversation with Alex Eldred

Alex-Thumb
An interview with our new Lighting Designer 'Alex Eldred'

What aspects of the role are you most excited about?

I’m looking forward to building a relationship with all the customers and being able to show them the skills I have picked up in my 6 years in the industry. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to create detailed 3D visualisations for customers for bespoke projects.

How do you like to unwind in your spare time?

I like to play football from time to time, I spend some time playing PC games when I get chance.  I however spend most of my time getting my hands dirty with some form of DIY.

Talk us through your typical day.

I tend to create a list in my head of the jobs that need doing. I check the bucket for the projects which are required the soonest and make these my priority to complete, I will then work my way through those. I check time to time for updates to lighting standards also.

How do you like to end your working day?

I typically end my working day by tying up any “loose ends” I may have and gathering anything I may need for the next day.

What attracted you to want to join the LPS team?

I felt I was ready to better my career with a small team of dedicated people and LPS was exactly what I was after. I felt valued from the very first conversation with the leadership and this cemented my desire to join the team.

What are your goals for the first 3 months?

My goals for the first three months are to get to grips with the vast, fantastic product range and build a “standard” set of luminaires for every project. I am also aiming to streamline the design process and implement procedures to help us meet the customers’ expectations every time.
