A Conversation with Matt Clark

Matt Clark is the new Product Development Manager

An interview with our new Product Development Manager ‘Matt Clark’

What aspects of the role are you most excited about?

Working in product development it’s the buzz you get from designing a product that customers are excited about and want to buy. Seeing something come from paper to life is very fulfilling. Having worked for some major UK brands I hope that I can bring my experience and skills to the LPS team to help this well established company move forward in the UK market. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and hopefully bringing so new and exciting products through the LPS range.

How do you like to unwind in your spare time?

As with most of us we lead busy lifestyles, unwinding with family and friends is my go to sometimes there is nothing better than a catch up. I am a keen cook so having friends round for a meal or just cooking for the family helps me unwind, clean plates are always a good sign. I have a young son so spending time with him (when I can get him off the computer) on a bike ride or a walk he always has something new and interesting to tell me most of the time I learn new things from him.

Talk us through your typical day.

First things first breakfast for the family one of the most important meals of the day, once I’ve had that I’m raring to go time to check my emails. I’ll then run through my priorities for that day I like to make a list of what I want to achieve for that day then time to crack on.

How do you like to end your working day?

There’s an end to the day? Generally a nice meal with the family, glass of wine and watching some SI-FI program.

What attracted you to want to join the LPS team?

LPS is a young and exciting team with the energy and drive that shows, they also have a wealth of knowledge of the lighting industry that shows. I believe they are set for big things and will grow and my hope is to grow with them.

What are your goals for the first 3 months?

We have a number of challenges that many UK businesses are facing coming up, with the transition from CE marking to UKCA marking I aim to ensure that LPS are ready and well prepared for this. We have the support of many great suppliers who are making the transition less troublesome.

I would also like to bring a few new products into the LPS range as well so looking at the product gaps and the market as well as new technologies is a priority of mine to ensure we stay one step ahead of the competition.

But the main thing is looking what I can do for you as a customer, how can I help? For me the main thing is how can we at LPS support you and your business.
